Why go to therapy?
Individuals usually seek psychotherapy in order to increase their sense of well being and help them reach their full potential. Through the therapeutic relationship, individuals will gain insight into why they think, feel, and behave in the ways that they do; this insight can lead to change. The goal is that the new awareness will specifically address those aspects that may be causing them distress, impeding progress toward their life goals, or getting in the way of their ability to find fulfillment in love and work.
Psychotherapy helps people learn how to take control of their lives and respond to challenges with healthy coping skills.
It takes courage and commitment to look at oneself. It is my hope that through the creation of a safe, non-judgmental space and a collaborative relationship, clients will be able to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As the therapist, I will provide that space and that relationship, as well as insight, skills, knowledge, emotional support, guidance, and encouragement that can lead each person to make the changes he or she is seeking.
Together, we can help you achieve your goals of developing a life that is happier and more meaningful.
